Kyle’s Notes:

In August 2023, I did our first single floor release when we did a Soft Red Wheat BiB bottling coming exclusively from Rickhouse C Floor 4.  Personally I enjoy working with multiple floors more than a single floor because the variability each floor offers is more extreme relative to the differences of the ricks on the same floor.  When using a single floor, the differences between our potential batches exists but is very subtle.

However, it is very intriguing to me to be able to begin a floor comparison between the rickhouses like this batch provides. This batch comes from Floor 4 of Rickhouse B and offers consumers the comparison between Rickhouse C and B. I would strongly encourage those that have access to both bottles to do a blind comparison between the two.

Bourbon Nerd Information:

On 2/6 and 2/7/2025, a total of 95 barrels were dumped to produce only BiB with a barrel loss of 37.2% during aging (larger loss due to one completely empty barrel). A total of 18 distilling days were used in the batch from the Fall 2018 distilling season. The weighted average for the floor was 4.00 and there were 9 different ricks used as seen below.
